It is better before you find the problem in others, to try and identify it in you.

 

There was once a couple, married for many years. They were middle-aged. One day the husband after a long debate in his mind, concluded that his wife can not hear so well as in the old days, so he  thought she would need a hearing aid. Not sure how to address the problem to his wife, he requested help from the family doctor with who he discussed the problem. The doctor advised him to make a simple test to his wife in order to make a clearer idea of the so called hearing problems.

– This is what you have to do, said the doctor. Stay to about 10 m away from your wife and as if you have a normal conversation speak to her, tell her something and see if she hears. If you do not receive any response then go to 8 m away, then to 5 m and so on until you get an answer.

My grandfather likes to send this mail to all of his employees, and it touches them deeply and inspires them for the better. And today I am spreading his message to the entire world.

The old man had been a colonel in the Austrian army for many years and could recount fierce tales of conquest by his troops. But today he shook his head as he took the boy upon his knee.

“I will tell you, instead,” he said, “of the greatest battle I ever lost, which was won by braver men than mine.”

No, this isn’t some fancy Photoshop trick, these are real human footprints ingrained in a hardwood floor.

70 year-old Buddhist monk Hua Chi has been praying in the same spot at his temple in  Tongren, China for over 20 years. His footprints, which are up to 1.2 inches deep in some areas, are the result of performing his prayers up to 3000 times a day. Now that he is 70, he says that he has greatly reduced his quantity of prayers to 1,000 times each day.

The footprints have become a source of inspiration to younger monks at the temple. “Every day I come here and every day I look at the piece of wood, and it has inspired me to continue to make the footprints myself,” Genden Darji, a 29 year-old monk in the monastery, notes.
